On the 10th of May we successfully finished our education at Glenalmond College! These two weeks were not easy, we faced a lot of challneges. That was our first experience of being a part of an immersion programme. We had to follow the rules, stick to the routine, interact with local students on the lessons and after school. We even had to share our bedrooms with them. We were given a unique opportunity to use English around the clock. The weather was quite a challenge as well! We didn’t expect to have such cold weather in May. But by the end of our trip we got used to it and could play tennis under rain. Just like locals!
The lessons and the way of teaching differ from what we have here in Moscow. It was really interesting to go to different classes and see the way they learn the same subjects. Some of them were new for us, such as Divinity or Tech. The first week it was hard for us to engage but the second week we felt more confident.
On Friday we got our certificates and went to Edinburgh for an evening walk. We wandered around the streets, popped into some shops to buy presents for our parents and siblings. Edinburgh is a city everyone must visit! It has such a unique atmosphere. The historical buildings, picturesque views, friendly people. It was really nice to say ’goodbye’ to Scotland there
These two weeks have been unforgettable for many reasons! Anyway, the most important thing is that have learned a lot and made plenty of new friends! And we have a lot of stories to share with our families and friends. Bye-bye, Glenalmond College! Hope to see you again one day!
