Hello everyone! Finally we reached our destination — a small but cozy town Hastings. The first mention of Hastings is found in the late 8th century in the form Hastingas. This is derived from the Old English tribal name Hæstingas, meaning `the constituency/followers of Hæsta’. Hastings is most famous for the battle that took place there in 1066 between King Harold’s English and William the Conqueror’s Normans.
The house that we are going to live in for the next two weeks is amazing. It’s a historical building but the best thing here is views of the Atlantic Ocean. Every day we have an opportunity to enjoy the sound of tidal waves and fresh air.
On 29 of April we had a trip to London. The weather was so typical for England: rainy and foggy. In spite of all inconveniences we were super excited to visit Madam Tussaud’s museum, take pictures with some figures of famous people, buy souvenirs and of course just look around.
Our lessons at Buckwood School started on Monday. Buckswood School is an independent school for boys and girls that was founded in 1933 So we are very lucky to study here.
On the first day we had 6 lessons where we created scripts, filmed, learnt and revised grammar. Our last class we were with the other group of older students. They helped us a lot. Of course sometimes it was hard but we are here to get knowledge, have fun and make new friends.
